The Right HubSpot Plan for Your Stage of Growth
Executive Brief: Some rules of thumb to make sure you have the right plans.
In this Executive Brief:
You don’t want to overpay for HubSpot or handcuff your team with limited functionality that makes them ineffective. Here are some rules of thumb to help pick the right plans using HubSpot for your Franchise Marketing, Sales, and Development based on your franchise’s growth stage
What you need to know:
Picking the right HubSpot plans isn’t easy or straightforward and there are always details that could make a difference. The best answer depends on what you’re doing in HubSpot, how big your teams are, and what your growth goals are.
This is about using HubSpot for Franchise Development. This is not about using HubSpot as the CRM for your franchisees/locations.
One thing you should take away from this is that upgrading from Sales Hub Pro to Enterprise is some of the best value-per-dollar-spent on HubSpot.

The “Hard to Go Wrong” Plan
There are always details that could change the best-fit plan for you, but if you’re using HubSpot for FranDev, it’s hard to go wrong with these HubSpot plans:

Let’s Drill Down
You’re Getting Started
For Franchises just getting started or migrating from a legacy CRM, starting with easily accessible plans that will scale with you as you grow is a good idea. You won’t have access to the more powerful features, but until your marketing, sales, and development processes are in place, that is OK.
If you:
Are winning, launching, and transferring a combined <20 territories per year
Have 1 Dedicated FranDev Rep
Do limited marketing and very little content creation
Here is where you should start:
You’re in a Building Stage
When you’ve graduated to higher growth targets and need to expand your team, automation, reporting, and reach, a few targeted upgrades unlock power features that will make a big difference for your teams.
If you:
Are winning, launching, and transferring a combined 25 - 75 territories per year
2-3 Dedicated FranDev Reps or SDRs
Run basic marketing: paid ads and limited social media or content
Here is where you should start:
You’re an Established Franchise
Once you’re established and your systems are firing on all cylinders, HubSpot should be doing the same thing for you. You won’t need to run all your FranDev activities or systems in HubSpot, but the HubSpot Customer Platform is a great single source of truth to bring in status and data to unify your efforts.
If you:
Are winning, launching, and transferring a combined 75 - 125 territories per year
Have 3+ Reps, VP of Sales/FranDev, multiple SDRs
Have sophisticated marketing plans
Here is where you should start:
You’re a Large System
If you’re a large system, this is a much more open question. You need the advanced tools only available with the Enterprise tier tools. You might even need the Business Unit/Brands add-on or multiple portals depending on how you’re structured.
If you:
Are winning, launching, and transferring a combined 150+ territories per year
Have 300+ operating territories or owner groups
Have multiple brands
Are creating and scaling high quality content
Here is where you should start:
